Mission description
Position Summary:
1) Observes and keeps track of activities of workers engaged in unloading cargo from chartered vessels docked at job site.
2) Records and defines conformance to agreed unloading patterns to prevent damage to material, equipment and most importantly workers.
3) Verifies materials loaded against work order instructions or bill of lading.
4) May schedule sequence of transportation usage, routes of transportation vehicle operators, or movement of materials in/ out of vessel.
5) Ensures all operations are conducted with health and safety principles at the forefront of all priorities.
6) When not engaged in observing discharging operations of vessels, the candidate would work on the project at an operational level in the office where the candidate is based (Calgary or Vancouver).
Profile
- Has good communications skills both written and spoken in English
- Able to communicate in Mandarin (asset)
- Can handle prioritizing activities under pressure from different interests
- Has some basic project work experience
- Is able to build relationships
- Has attention to details
- Is able to travel within Canada
The person in this position will need to work in a remote location for a length of time spanning from one week to three weeks in rare cases.
This position requires the person to work outdoors a portion of the time.
